KVID Hydrant Flow Testing on Monday (12/7/20)

On Monday morning Highlands Fire will be testing flow at fire hydrants around Kachina Village. This is an important process for our community, as the information is passed along and helps provide lower home insurance rates for Kachina Village.

Unfortunately, the flow testing leads to increased flows which can cause water quality issues for some of our customers who may experience cloudy water from sediment stirred up in the line.

While we certainly understand that water quality is an important concern for our customers, be assured that there are not health risk associated with the additional sediment in the water.

If you are having issues on Monday with cloudy water please try running a bathtub or outside hose faucet for 5-8 minutes to flush your lines and see if that improves your water quality. We typically find that a quick flush of your lines will provide an immediate improvement with the water returning to its normal quality over the next 24 hours.

If you have continued issues, don’t see an improvement after flushing your lines, or have other questions please feel free to contact our offices for further assistance at (928) 525-1775 or feel free to email me directly at smossman@kachinawater.com

Thank you for your understanding.
